Multi-Level Management companies, or MLMs, have a different business plan than most retail companies (I think I mean “business plan”) in that they have no storefront space thus sell directly to the consumer via independent consultants. In beauty, there’s Avon, Mary Kay and Arbonne, to name a few. I found it hard (and by “hard” I mean there wasn’t one in the top 3 when I Googled it. I found one on, like, page 2) to find a trustworthy review on Arbonne’s products because those who sell it use it and love it.  Those who don’t use it say it’s too expensive. Or perhaps they used to sell it and became disenchanted with the company as often happens with independent consultants of MLMs.

But first, a bit about Arbonne. Arbonne touts its products as “Pure, safe and beneficial.” Check out their site, this is their Ingredient Policy Page. Full disclosure: I do not sell Arbonne! The website says this about the SeaSource Detox Spa line:

Mud Face & Body Mask: Can I just say that I love it? Because I love it. OK, yes it costs $56 cad plus tax & shipping but the tube is huge. It will definitely last long enough for you to get your moneys worth. The first time I used it I was all “a mask, whooooooo!” The second time, it tingled. My face tingled all over and it felt so good! When I washed it off, my skin was radiant. And believe me, I don’t toss that adjective around willy-nilly. I have uneven skin tone under my eyes – a.k.a pregnancy mask, melasma, or chloasma faciei if you want to get really highfalutin’ and science-y (thank you, Wikipedia!). I swear; the second time I used this mask, when I rinsed it off, that unevenness was gone! No, it wasn’t gone for good – that is not what the product does. But it was gone for awhile, for the first time in years. I use this puppy weekly. I look forward to mask-day because it is such a treat for my skin. Bonus: it doesn’t get all dried out and flake off like other mud masks I have tried. I don’t know how to describe the smell. I mean, it’s mud, or clay but it’s not unpleasant; there is a bit of tanginess to the smell. This is a product I will buy again and again.

Remineralzing Body Lotion 24H: This smells like heaven. Actually; I can't say that with complete accuracy, never having been to heaven. It probably smells like "shea butter and marine botanicals...vitamins and minerals." It does smell wonderful and fresh, with a tang, but in a gentle scent. Again, the downside is the cost (with Arbonne the downside is always the cost) $60 cad plus tax and shipping. I have to say, I don't use this as a body lotion. I can run through a bottle of body lotion in a couple of weeks. For $60, I gotta make this stuff last. So I use it as a hand lotion. At home, where I don't use a lot of hand lotion (unlike at work where I slather it on like it's goin' outta style!). I love this lotion because it smells so fresh and tangy. It's not thick and greasy, it's not runny and messy. It is the perfect consistency. I used it on my stomach and neck after I got a sunburn (bad, silly me!) and it soothed my sensitive, burned skin. Unfortunately, it does not give my hands the soft, moisturised feeling I like from a lotion. I have to say, as much as I love this stuff, I would not buy it again for that reason. You better believe I'm enjoying it while I have it, though!
