Juice Beauty Age Defy Green Apple

By Megs
I can't remember how I found Juice Beauty, but I did. And I'm glad I did. There's so many products of theirs I want to try, I had a hard time deciding where to begin. I went with skincare, and one of my main concerns, anti-aging. Most of their anti-aging products are these green apple ones. I opted for the kit, since it was an affordable way to try 5 products at once. I give anything I buy from anywhere in the US 2 weeks to arrive and Juice Beauty was right on time.

Juice Beautybsays this about the kit: Brighten, lighten and tighten with an age-defying organic fruit acid complex and an antioxidant cocktail of peptides, DMAE, alpha lipoic acid, fat-soluble Vitamin C and CoQ10.

True to form, the tubes were smaller than I expected (why does everything always look bigger in pictures? More importantly, perhaps, why don't I pay attention to sizes of things I purchase online?) but as I was being dragged (kicking and screaming, I might add) camping on the September long weekend, I felt this kit would be the perfect size for travel skincare. I expected this set to smell like green apple!!!!! But it doesn't; only the day cream has a really distinctive scent, and that is actually more lime-y than anything else. Anyway, in order of my use there's:

Green Apple Cleansing Gel - I like this. It does a good job. I love that I can not only pronounce all of the ingredients, I actually know what they are (this is true of everything in this kit). This cleanser cleans the makeup off my face, it does what it's supposed to do and I like it. I'll definitely repurchase. My only comment is on the packaging. Because it is the upside down squeeze tube (my preferred method of packaging), and kinda runny, I wish the cap had a bigger little nipple on the inside of it to go up inside the opening of the tube, to keep the cleanser from leaking out. There's not much leakage, but still, why waste, right?

Green Apple Age Defy Serum - this, to me, is what a serum should be like. It's thickish, it's clear, it's kinda syrupy in composition. I use 2 squirts for my whole face (1.5 squirt for face, 0.5 for neck) and neck and my skin feels nourished and moisturised...and serum-ed.

Green Apple Age Defy Moisturiser - on the box, this is called a pm moisturiser but there is no mention on the tube itself. Since the other one is specified as a day moisturiser, by default this had to be the night one. While I have nothing against this moisturiser per se, out of the set it is the one thing I can say I wouldn't re-purchase. There are other night creams that I have liked better.

Green Apple Peel Full Strength - I have to say, I was really looking forward to peeling this off my face. But you wash it off. Anyway, peels supposedly remove dead skin cells. I used this after my camping trip, when my face looked haggard - all that fresh air? More like, all that campfire smoke and drinking - and my face was very happy with itself afterward. This peel is my friend.

Green Apple SPF Moisturiser - this is easily my favourite item in the kit. I love the smell of it!!!! It has a distinctive lime-y scent. When it comes candy (and I eat a lot of candy), my favourite colour is always green - Skittles, jujubes, Sour Patch Kids - I love green/lime flavoured candies. This cream smells the way yummy green candies taste! It is a very thick cream, which I associate more with night cream than day ones, but it is very rich and I love spreading it on my face.

Overall, I am definitely won over by Juice Beauty and their Age Defy Green Apple kit. If you have heard of Juice Beauty and been on the fence about trying their products, I say go for it. If you have not heard of them but are into more natural, cruelty-free, paraben & phthalate-free products, Juice Beauty is a brand to try!
